Our quest, as human beings, has been throughout history a journey of discovery and understanding. Our ancestors from all cultures and backgrounds were, as we are today, inquiring into our relationship with Mother Earth, each other, and the quite magnificent and expansive universe.
The wisdom and alchemic treasures of our multicultural and multilingual background continue through the words and actions of wise men and women from every corner and from every civilisation on the Earth today.
The word Shaman originates in Siberia, however wise man and wise woman, an integral part of the word Shaman, unify the meanings and guidance of all the religions, faiths and practices still with us today. In fact the rich tapestry of guidance and teachings that guides us all inwards towards a deeper understanding of ourselves, and each other, contains many languages that all speak with the same essence.
It is said that when we take the time to listen, to understand and to acknowledge another’s views there is always an opportunity for us to recognize the similarities in the profound messages. In fact the wisdom teachings themselves seep through the cracks and show up in so many different languages in order that they can be available to anyone willing to take a moment to inquire, listen and consider first their own way of seeing and then the way of seeing from another perspective.

This integral journey shows that all paths are quite literally leading us in the same direction and the path of the Shaman ( I use this word like a rainbow including everyone and where they choose to place their faith), asks us to transcend all dogma, hard held beliefs into an open and welcoming space where unifying principles exist and bring us to a place of spiritual peace.
We are all on the same Quest. Each one of us takes our own path. Each one of us develops our own relationship with the world we find ourselves living in and each one of us accepting every day as a gift from God/creator finds a place to reconcile differences. Death brings this closer to us. Death reminds us that our time here is precious. Death reminds us to be living in gratitude every day. Death reminds us that we will die one day. Death reminds us that whatever path we choose, it will meet us unconditionally. This final transcendance we can achieve whilst living and the wisdom teachings from all around the world are in their own unique and yet profoundly beautiful way guiding us to a way of seeing that discounts no-one and recognizes the part that everyone and everything plays in this miracle of life and the miracle of taking a human body and the miracle of living on an incredible planet.
Most ancient wisdom is anchored deeply in the natural world and our ability to re-establish a relationship with the natural world helps us to listen more intently to the teachings of nature, the Earth, the Sun, the moon and the universe.
When we take the time to listen and to understand another we open our eyes and our minds to the infinite possibilities of wisdom we have access to.
There is no this or that, no right or wrong – somewhere there is a thread that weaves us together, somewhere there is an essence, a vibration of similarities and an honouring of differences.
As we honour differences, as we transcend the human ego mind, we have the possibility of nourishing ourselves with the richness found in the teachings of all the traditions and religions of the world.
